Security
A secure, safe environment is vitally important
when caring for children and this is exactly what we offer.
To protect your child we have 24 hour CCTV
covering all entrances, exits and playgrounds and we have a network
telephone system throughout the Kindergarten ensuring easy
communication between the various classrooms and office.
Intercom systems
are on each door leading to classrooms, with keypads for staff
entrance only, thereby making sure that only persons authorised by
members of staff can gain access.
Attendance
registers are placed in each classroom at the beginning of every day
that must be signed by a member of staff when the child arrives and
must be signed by the parent when the child leaves the building.
This is not only required as part of our licensing but also gives
the staff up-to-the-minute attendance lists.
If anyone other
than the usual person is collecting your child, the appropriate form
must be completed beforehand and Identification (such as a driving
license) and a password will be requested from the person
collecting. If we are in any doubt we will not permit your child to
leave until we are satisfied that it is safe to do so.
It is IPK policy
that no one under sixteen years of age (unless they are the child’s
parent) is permitted to collect a child.
If a fire or other
such emergency occurs it is crucial that children react in a safe
and orderly way, therefore children participate in regular fire
drills and practices so that they will know what to do in the case
of an actual emergency. Emergency procedures are posted in every
classroom and corridor.
High handles on
doors are another safety feature of the Kindergarten and a large car
park is provided for your convenience. |

Nutrition
We
believe that good eating habits are more easily established when
a child
is young so we have a
seasonal,
four
weekly rotating menu which incorporates foods children love, but
that are also planned to meet children’s daily nutritional needs. Our
qualified chef has a commitment to providing a balanced diet incorporating
lots of fresh fruit and vegetables in the daily
two-course lunch and light tea.
Breakfast
consisting of fruit juice, cereal and toast can be provided at
a small charge
and for working
parents that
find it difficult to provide lunch before arriving for the afternoon
session, we may be able to provide a cooked meal if the space
is
available. This needs to be booked in advance to ensure a place
is available and that the chef caters for the correct amount of
children.
Special dietary
requirements can be catered for on request and appropriate food
for weaning
babies
is also
provided. Please make us aware of any special dietary requirements
on the registration form and ensure that we are kept up to date with
any changes.
For babies we ask parents to supply their child’s
prepared bottle feeds in clearly labelled bottles.
We all love
to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and we welcome
you to bring
in birthday cakes
etc but
please bear in mind that some children do have food allergies. If
you wish to bring in any foods please speak to your child’s
key-worker beforehand, otherwise we respectfully request that
children do not bring their own food into Kindergarten. Not
only can it cause problems for those children that have food allergies
but it can also cause upsets and squabbles between children. |
